UK Trade & Investment will be hosting several events at BIO2008 . Specifically for the event, UKTI will be commissioning Overseas Market Introduction Services (OMIS) for companies who wish to take full advantage of their time in Southern California . OMIS is a way that we can support UK companies for a small fee by finding partners and building business relationships between the US and UK . I have attached a brochure which explains more.

We are offering several OMIS packages during BIO including:

1) £500 for you to attend an executive level dinner on June 18; where we will showcase your company in a UK brochure at the dinner including what you are hoping to get out of it (partners, licenses, etc); we will also make every effort to sit you at a table with specific companies/contacts and introduce you to possible partners. UKTI  will also provide a list on June 6 of the RSVP's for the dinner. We are planning the dinner to be quite exclusive with approximately 100 of the top industry contacts (Executive level only).

2) Other options include scheduling meetings, introducing you to additional contacts, detailed list of contacts, etc.

BIVDA: Diagnostics 2008 - June 26th
BERR Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London

Recent significant mergers and acquisitions have changed the future of the global diagnostics industry.  Have these changes signalled the start of the golden age for the sector?  Opportunities for personalised medicine, companion diagnostics, and combination with devices are just some of the fields of increasing activity.  Improvement in disease screening, prevention, detection, monitoring and management are all dependent on test provision being faster, cheaper and reliable.  How are companies embracing the changes?  Diagnostics 2008 will provide a unique opportunity for global leaders, SMEs and new technologies to share a platform and exchange experience.

Diagnostics 2008 is being organised to catalyse Open Innovation in the UK’s diagnostic sector, widening the distribution of knowledge, by bringing together industry players, great and small, and generators of new tests and technologies.

The morning session will focus on the background to the recent industry changes, the support from government and examples of strategies employed by larger players in the field to embrace innovation and deliver new products to the market place.

The afternoon session will give opportunities to recently formed companies and technologists to introduce their diagnostic propositions.

Some of the UK’s new and exciting companies developing or offering diagnostic products and platforms will present a “4 minute Business Pitch” to the audience. In addition, a number of the latest innovations in diagnostics will be presented in “4 minute Innovation Pitches”.

The content is targeted at CEOs, R&D and Business Development managers of companies engaged in the development and supply of diagnostic products and those targeted with identifying new business opportunities in the IVD sector.

Early registration is recommended as demand for this event is expected to be high.  To register to attend please register online at:     http://ias.oxin.co.uk/events/registerph2.php or by email to events@iasse.co.uk

Registration for members of BIVDA and DiagnOx is £100, for non-members is £150.
